Our Lessons
Our Upbeat Kids music classes focus on developing pitch, steady beat, rhythm, exposure to different instruments, confidence using our bodies in space, story telling and music, attention, concentration, memory and language skills.
How do we do this? This program is developed by Speech Therapist and Music Teacher, Phillipa Nixon-James. With well over a decade of working with children in both the therapy setting and the music classroom, and a Masters Degree in Child Development, Phillipa brings all these elements together in a fun and interactive way for little ones to engage with music.

- Preschool curriculum. Upbeat Kids offers a curriculum based approach, providing music lessons for schools.
The Details
- Each term consists of 7 lessons.
- Lessons are 30 mintues, with free play and musical engagement afterwards.
- Weekly themed music is added to the playlist to help families keep music fun and fresh in their homes.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes it isn’t always possible to attend a class. Cancellations must be made with 24 hours notice to qualify for a make up session. One make up class will be made available at the end of term, and the possibility of a holiday make up class will be made available to you if holiday pop ups are scheduled. If more than 2 classes are cancelled, you will not have the option to make them up, they are forefeit. Catch up classes must be made up within a term of your missed lesson.
