I’m Pips, a boy mama, and paediatric Speech Therapist with a masters in child development. It’s my passion to see parents thrive, and for healthy parent-child connection to be supported.
About Phillipa
Phillipa lives in Durban, South Africa, with her husband Matt, and son Caleb. Phillipa studied Speech Language Pathology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and pursued a Masters degree in Child Development from the University of Haifa (Cum Laude). Phillipa also holds a postgraduate certificate in education (Cum Laude). Phillipa has worked in private practice and government, with a strong paediatric focus. Along with her therapy background, Phillipa has worked as a full time music teacher, conducted choirs, and developed a children’s orchestra.
From this background, Upbeat Kids was developed as a comprehensive music programme that integrates multiple learning areas.
“This is the dream, to have a supportive approach to speech and language development, where all learning areas are celebrated, incorporated, and supported.” And this dream is realised in the launch of Talking Blocks, a comprehensive approach to speech and language development that empowers you as the parent to support your child’s speech and language.
Phillipa is a trained Circle of Security Parenting facilitator, and is passionate about parents learning how to best support their child’s development, and grow emotionally healthy kids.
